Chiang Kai-shek was a committed and avid diarist. It was very interesting to read about history through a person's diary.

Chiang wrote down pretty much everything in life, including philosophy, competitors, friends. His writings fill a remarkable 66 volumes and span the years 1917 to 1972. There are many private things. He was very honest and straightforward. He wrote about how he felt, even about how he controlled his sexual desire.

Chiang's image has been greatly distorted in China, and he was quite misunderstood by most of Chinese people. These dairies have changed my mind of Chiang, and I wish more Chinese could read about them and become less biased.
